It is crucial to get your kitten spayed or neutered as soon as it is old enough, preferably before it goes into heat. They can breed as young as 4 months and 3-4 times a year. In no time at all, two cats can become 20.
And then they end up here if they are lucky... Or left to die along a lonely country road.
Cats adopted from our shelter are eligible for NYS spay/neuter vouchers. If you are on public assistance, SSI, Food Stamps, Medicaid etc., use the link below to download and print an application to get your cat or dog spayed/neutered for $20. NYS will send you a list of vets in your area who participate. Your pet does not have to be adopted from a shelter if you meet the income requirements. |
